Desorption

Stripping Process

Volatile organic contaminants (e.g. halogenated VOC) can be volatised using a counter current gas stream (air, inert gas) from the liquid phase into the vapour phase. The off-gas from an air stripper can be treated with vapour phase activated carbon (GAC) a or with a catalytic oxidiser. BAUER Environment Group designs, builds and supplies strippers for sale or rental in various types.

Air Stripper

High stripping efficiencies up to 99 % can be achieved by using a single air stripper or two respectively three strippers connected in row. The specific surface in the strippers is important for the stripping performance. A large surface is achieved by special carrier material. The water flow is led counter current to the air flow through the stripper.

Vacuum Stripper

Vacuum strippers are designed to facilitate the air stripping of less volatile contaminants from the liquid phase. An applied vacuum to the air stripper column therefore enhances the strippability of compounds which are not readily stripped under normal conditions. Advantages include the requirement of only 1/5th of the air flow compared to a normal stripper and the high concentration of the discharge vapours.

Compact Bubble Stripper

The advantage of a Compact Bubble Stripper is the production of very small air bubbles which enhance the stripping efficiency.

Compact Stripper

BAUER Environment Group compact strippers are designed for common sea-freight containers. By placing the stripping unit into the containers whole treatment plants can be manufactured in our manufacturing sites and sent to the subsequent user without any further needs for installation. The compact stripper is not filled with carrier material. Air is injected via shelves in the stripper.
